Morello Cherry Devil’s Food Cake Cupcake Recipe

This is a simple and delicious recipe for all ages to enjoy!

1 Package of Betty Crocker’s Devil’s Food Cake Mix

1 Jar of Morello Cherries

4 Cups of Convectioner’s sugar

4 Tbsp. of milk

1 ½ Tsp. of vanilla

½ Cup of butter (1 stick)

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Make Betty Crocker’s Devil’s Food Cake mix as directed. Then, puree 1 cup of Morello Cherries and 1 cup of the cherry juice, in a blender. Pour pureed mix in with the food cake mix. Using a rubber spatula, fold the two together until the streaks of red are gone. Then, pour the combined mix into the cupcake pan filling them 2/3’s of the way full. Before placing them in the oven drop a Morello cherry in the middle of each cupcake. Bake for 18-22 minutes.

Now, for the best part, THE FROSTING.

Whip softened butter in a bowl until fluffy and creamy. Then, add the Convectioner’s sugar 1 cup at a time, mixing continuously. Add tbsp. of milk when mixture gets too thick. Once all the sugar and milk is added, pour in the vanilla. Mix altogether until the consistency is how you like it.

Once the cupcakes are out of the oven and cooled. Frost how you would like then for extra tartness add a morello cherry on top of each cupcake, and enjoy J
